To be clear, just by the fact that I didn't install AtlasOS through a fresh install of Windows as shown in both the documentation and the tutorial video, I knew I was bound to face some issues. I didn't even expect it to work at all and yet it still did.
I tried it on a Windows 10 Home Single Language 22H2 Virtual Machine on a Linux Mint 21 host.
Ryzen 7 4800H 8c 16t
RTX 3050 Laptop
1TB Kingston NV1
I wanted to try it because the VM became very stuttery and unresponsive after a VMware and Windows update, that made it hard to pin down which caused the issue. I thought to try AtlasOS since I heard it's a post-install modification to Windows. And since I had nothing of much importance in the VM (it's just for Bluestacks and Visual Studio), if it went horribly wrong, I could just do it the recommended way or just plain install Windows 10 normally.
Here's the error log it produced: https://pastebin.com/ntCvUKnr
I wonder if these errors occurred because of my vanilla W10 install, or if it's something else entirely. From what I could tell though, the CPU and RAM usage of the VM has been reduced significantly. The stuttering and unresponsiveness has been reduced but still there -- might be VMware at this point.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone had any thoughts on this or if anyone else is trying a similar config as I am. :)
